Why are they still in your head?

You did the therapy, went no contact, processed the grief, rebuilt your life, and by every external measure you have moved on.

Why does a random song, a familiar smell, or a passing comment from a stranger send you straight back into the dynamic you worked so hard to leave? Why does your body still brace when your phone rings, even years later? Why does the exhaustion that defined that relationship still show up in your field?

If this is your reality, the energetic cords are still intact.

Every intimate relationship leaves an imprint in the biofield, and the cords that form with narcissistic, gaslighting, or energetically predatory people are the most persistent. They do not dissolve when contact stops or when a court order is signed or when you finally stop loving them.

They continue operating quietly in your energy field keeping part of you perpetually tethered to someone your conscious mind has chosen to release.

Narcissists operate with a genuine deficit in their own energetic field and they compensate by extracting life force from the people around them. The exhaustion you felt in that relationship was the siphoning of your biofield.

The missing piece is energetic sovereignty.

Your energy field is the territory. Learning to protect it, clear it, and maintain its integrity regardless of who is in your environment is a survival skill for the world we are living in.

Shamanic cord cutting severs what therapy alone doesn't reach. Energetic shielding creates a field that blocks predatory energy. Sovereignty work, the deep inner training of knowing your own energy so that you recognize immediately when something foreign has entered your field, upgrades your life permanently.

Try this quick process:

Bring to mind someone who has drained your energy, past or present. Notice where in your body you feel the connection to them, your chest, your stomach, your solar plexus. Place your hand there.

Speak these words out loud with conviction:

"I call my energy back from [name] across all time, dimension, space, and reality. I release all energy that belongs to them. I reclaim what is mine. My field is my own."

Breathe. Feel your own energy returning. That is cord cutting in its simplest form, and it works.
