It is easy to feel connected when you have created the perfect conditions for it.

The room is quiet, you are alone, your eyes are closed, and you have stepped away from the demands of your day for a peaceful meditation. It is an excellent practice to take time for yourself in your busy life.

The harder part comes when you open your eyes and pick up your life again, and eventually meet the person, the decision, the frustration, or the old patterns that pull you straight back into the version of yourself you just got beyond.

This is where the real work comes in.

Somewhere inside the challenges, you became aware. You felt your body tighten before you reacted and recognized what was happening. You heard yourself repeating an old story and realized you did not need it anymore. You felt the familiar impulse to decide from fear and chose not to. From the outside those moments seem simple, but they tell you something important: your inner work is working.

That is embodiment. That is what it looks like when your spiritual practice affects who you are in real life.

Today, instead of measuring your growth by the peak moments you’ve had in the past, pay attention to one ordinary moment. Notice how you respond. What are you more aware of than you used to be? Where are you pausing to make a choice from your heart instead of from anger?

Daily life is full of opportunities to practice being aligned. What small change are you witnessing about yourself that wouldn’t be there without your spiritual practice?
