When you wake, resist the urge to immediately reach for your phone. Notice the first dream, thought, name, image or idea that comes to mind and write it down, even if it seems unrelated.
The answer can arrive as a dream, a sudden idea, a person you feel prompted to contact or something you remember that you had completely overlooked.
Repeat the experiment for three nights using the same question. If a clear action presents itself, take one step within the next 24 hours.
